This place is amazing especially if you have kids. Low cost for a lot of fun. You can mine fossils, gems and arrowheads. Pet the animals and enjoy the cave. I love the gift shop too!
Great place for a family outing. Petting zoo, gold panning and put put course. Make sure to bring a jacket. Caves can be a little cool.
This place is awesome! I took my daughter on a whim, not knowing they had so many awesome different ways to stay entertained! You start off in the shop where they sell clothing items, toys and other trinkets, and it is also where you pay for any of the activities you'll want to do that day. The caverns are $9.95 for adults and $6.95 for kids 2-12 yrs old. The experience is amazing unless you are claustrophobic - steer clear if you are, being in underground caves will definitely exacerbate that diagnosis. The petting zoo is $3 per person and includes sheep, lamb, deer and mini cows. The animals are sweet as can be, the worst thing they'll do is lick your hand if you put it out to them. Within the petting zoo grounds, there's some play equipment that my daughter loved, including a huge tube slide. Next, they have a mini putt putt course that also costs $3 per person. We didn't play the course when we went. There are also a few free activities like corn hole, a big wooden tic tac toe board, a climbing wall (kid size) and a playground. All in all, it was an awesome experience and I can't wait to go back again!
Seen this while traveling home and stopped in and had a excellent experience learning the history of the caverns and felt like going back in time with the markings in the cavern of dates of people in the past. Great stop!
This is a fun little day trip. The cave is small and the tour is short, but interesting. They have a small play area on site and have several yard games set up. (Ex: corn hole, a large connect four, etc) There are some picnic areas on site as well. The gem panning is good fun. There is also an adorable petting zoo filled with sheep, goats, zebu, and deer. They offer food to feed the animals but prepare to get mauled/dirty if you buy some! (Those critters see that food coming a mile off!)
